Family Child Care Homes vary in days and hours of operation, program structure, and business practices to meet the individualized needs of the children and families. Providers complete the Desired Results Developmental Profile (DRDP) assessment tool for each enrolled child twice a year to gather valuable information to support learning and development while observing children in the Family Child Care Home during typical activities throughout the day. Results are shared during conferences to inform Parents of their child’s progress and ways to support their learning. 

All education program activities administered through the Family Child Care Network are achieved in partnership through a Service Agreement between Go Kids and Family Child Care Providers. A team of Go Kids FCC Specialists conducts regular visits to provide supportive technical assistance, and resources and encourage quality. A Family Child Care Environmental Rating Scale (FCCERS) is completed annually for each Provider which provides a consistent, reliable, and comprehensive measure of the FCC Home environment, program practices, and child interactions. The FCCERS provides the groundwork for continuous quality improvement through discovering strengths, identifying areas of focus, and creating a plan for continued growth. Further, Go Kids provides agency-sponsored trainings and workshops, network meetings, monthly newsletters, and resource guides and maintains a lending library for participating Family Child Care Providers.
