History
Go Kids, Inc.
has experienced tremendous growth since its inception
and has expanded its service delivery area to four counties,
Santa Clara, San Benito, Monterey, and Santa Cruz. Go
Kids, Inc., a large non-profit child development agency
has relocated its administrative headquarters from Morgan
Hill to Gilroy. The established agency has provided
quality child care and development services for families
of South County, for 27 years. Formerly known as Growth
and Opportunity, Inc., the organization changed its
name and logo in March 2001 as the result of an Organizational
Effectiveness grant sponsored by the David and Lucile
Packard Foundation.
In 2000, the Board of Directors entered into a strategic
planning process to focus on a vision for our second
25 years. The Board of Directors identified a need to
change the name of the agency to better reflect our
service to children. The process resulted in a decision
to change the name and logo of the agencyto help families
and the community identify us as an agency serving "kids."
In March of 2001, the agency announced the new name
of the agency as Go Kids, Inc.
The agency provides a broad range of services including
subsidized and full cost quality childcare programs,
community information and referral and Early Childhood
Professional Development support. In addition to center-based
and family child care services, Go Kids administers
an Alternative Payment Program and operates the San
Benito County Resource & Referral program.
