VIEW ALLIANCE -
NEIGHBORS ACHIEVING SUCCESS

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:
Funding was requested
to create the Glen View alliance, also known as GANAS:
a collaborative project by five agencies that will adress
the needs to improve access to affordable quality child
care, improve the economic stability of low-income families,
and increase the civic engagement of residents in the Glen
View neighborhood of Gilroy, CA.
PARTICIPATING AGENCIES
& SERVICES-
GO KIDS, INC.
- Community Outreach, Referrals,
and Information.
- Family Education-
Selecting quality child care and environments.
- Improving informal child care
within the Glen View Neighborhood.
- Supporting exempt and licensed
family child care professionals.
- Recruiting young children 0-5
for quality subsidized child care opportunities.
REBEKAH CHILDREN'S
SERVICES
- Mental health services to children
ages infant-18 months.
- Administers
classes in Gilroy schools that help students develop skills
to resist high-risk behaviors.
- Bilingual evening classes to
assist parents in raising healthy children.
- Free day care for children infant
to three, while children 4-9 attend a child learning program.
MACSA SOUTH COUNTY
- School readiness for children
0-5 years.
- Adult Development and leadership.
- In home ESL and job readiness
skills.
- Coordinate Neighborhood Pride
event.
GILROY UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT
- Early childhood readiness services.
- School connections to support
children to enter school ready to succeed.
SCHOOL LINKED SERVICES
- Outreach and eductation to families
in the Glen View neighborhood.
- In home parent education and
support.
- "Love & Logic"
parenting classes.
- Assessment and referral of children
0-5 for developmental delays.
- Referral and linkage to additional
community resources as appropriate.
